No! Dignyte runs completely on your local LAN. Order taking, table configurations, billing, and receipt prints are 100% offline. An internet connection is only needed for initial license activation, periodic license checkups, and the optional one-click backup to your own Gmail.

How does the 14-day offline grace period protect us?

Dignyte validates license keys periodically. If the restaurant has no internet connection during a scheduled check, the local Windows service falls back to a 14-day grace period, allowing full operations to proceed without blocking cashier billing.

Can we upgrade from Single-PC mode to Networked mode?

Yes! Upgrading requires zero reinstallation or data loss. Simply purchase/enable the Networked Edition license, toggle Networked mode in the settings, and pair waiter phones over local Wi-Fi.

What hardware do I need to run Dignyte?

A regular Windows 11 (64-bit) PC — 8 GB RAM recommended for smooth rush-hour performance. Single-PC mode runs fine on modest counter PCs with one USB 80mm thermal printer. Networked mode adds Android 8.0+ phones for tableside ordering over your restaurant Wi-Fi.

Which printers does Dignyte support?

Standard ESC/POS thermal printers — USB receipt printers on the billing counter and network (LAN) kitchen printers on port 9100. Multi-printer KOT routing lets each category print at its own station: tandoor items to the tandoor printer, Chinese to the wok station, bar to the bar.

Is my restaurant billing data safe?

Yes. Your data never leaves your restaurant. Everything is stored in an AES-256 encrypted database on your own PC. Backups are also encrypted and license-locked — a backup file can only be restored on a Dignyte installation carrying your own license key, so even a lost pendrive reveals nothing.

Are there per-order charges or commissions?

Zero. Dignyte is a one-time license with a small yearly renewal — no per-bill charges, no order commissions, no cloud subscription. Whether you print 50 bills a day or 500, the price is the same.

Can I try Dignyte before purchasing?

What happens when my license expires?

When a license expires, Dignyte enters a read-only locked mode allowing you to search past bills and run reports, but blocking new orders or KOT prints. Simply renew online or through a local partner to instantly unlock the POS with all your data intact.
